Offline Learning

Kia ora Students! I hope you are doing well, keeping active, reading every day, and having a lovely time. Your learning can go on, and you can continue to do well. I’m here to help where I can- email or send a dojo message. I know you’re going to get through mahi kainga tasks at your own rate and in your own way. Here are some tips so you can keep learning independently. Reading. • Read at least 15 minutes every day. • Read with expression. • Use strategies to say new words. • Summarise the main ideas. • Talk about what you are reading. Writing. • Write something every day. This is a PERFECT CHANCE to learn more about your family. • Think about your writing goal/s. • Check spelling. Practise 5 words (eg look, cover, write, check). • Make sure capital letters and full stops are in the right places. • Use exciting descriptive words. • Add detail. Maths. • If you have finished the maths problem, change the numbers and have another go. • Explain how you solve problems. • You need to prove you’re right. • Practise basic facts too. • Use Studyladder to help build skills.
Please ask me if you need some help, and do share your learning and what you're up to. Ka kite, Damian
